Fahrenheit 451 trailer

Michael B. Jordan burns all the books in 'Fahrenheit 451' trailer

The HBO movie will premiere in May.

A year ago, HBO reported that it was adjusting Beam Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 into a film and today we get its first trailer. In it, we see Commander Beatty, played by Michael Shannon, telling subordinate fire fighter Fellow Montag (Michael B. Jordan) about the perils of books and why they must be scorched. "A little learning is an unsafe thing," he says. "News, certainties, diaries, web of old - consume it." We likewise observe Jordan's character spreading those plans to class youngsters, lighting room-fulls of books on fire and saying with scarcely controlled rage, "I need to consume."

Fahrenheit 451 will debut on HBO in May. You can look at the trailer underneath.
